Beginning a renovation can feel overwhelming, especially with how many details there are to consider. We’ve outlined our process here to help ease some of that uncertainty, and to give you a clear understanding of how we approach renovations.
Before you contact us, it’s helpful to determine the scope of your renovation. Determine exactly what you are wanting to remodel – is it an entire bathroom overhaul, or a specific element of the bathroom? Is it the kitchen cabinets, or the cabinets and the floors? Think about the overall look and style you want for the space, as well as your budget. Answering all of these questions helps determine your priorities, gives you a good idea of your budget, and gives you design ideas that you can use later.
It’s also important to research potential contractors. If you’re reading this, you’re probably doing that already! Taking the time to compare and research contractors allows you to explore your options and choose the professional whose work best suits your needs, expectations, and renovation goals.

Providing this information in advance helps streamline the initial process. Once this first contact is made, we will schedule an on-site walkthrough to gain a more detailed understanding of the renovation. After this walkthrough, you’ll receive an estimate that outlines anticipated costs, including materials, labor, and time.
After reviewing the estimate, one of two outcomes will follow:
Once the contract has been signed, we move into the design phase of the renovation. During this stage, we will work together to finalize the final look of the project, including material selections, color palettes, appliances, and other design details that will ensure the finished space reflects your vision. During this time, we will also confirm the project timeline, including the anticipated start and end dates, and establish a payment schedule for the project.
This part of the process marks the start of construction on the project. Before we begin working, we will secure all required permits and coordinate all necessary inspections throughout the project. We will also meet with you before construction begins to review all finalized details, and discuss any updates or changes since our last discussion.
During this meeting, we will go over logistical considerations such as pets, parking, site access, and how the renovation may affect the rest of the home and its occupants, ensuring minimum disruptions and clear expectations.

Once the project is complete, all that is left to do is enjoy your newly renovated space. H34 provides a one-year warranty on all our work, and we maintain high quality standards according to the International Building Code through ongoing inspections conducted throughout the renovation process.
